During my university exchange at the University of Edinburgh, I had many opportunities to travel around Europe.

A typical walk through some of Europe’s most amazing cities usually went like this:

1. “What’s that?”

2. “Where do we go now???”

3. “I wish we’d researched beforehand!”

That’s when an idea struck - what if I could create an on-demand digital tour guide that works wherever and whenever?

By combining multiple digital technologies—mapping, directions, artificial intelligence, and speech synthesis - I created Tour.

On launch, Tour immediately recognises where you are in the world. Behind the scenes, it uses your tailored tour preferences to design a route based on your interests. With the click of a button, Tour comes alive, directing and speaking to you as if you had your own personal tour guide.

Personally, I wanted Tour to focus on history, culture, and famous film & TV shooting spots—and I only wanted to walk for about an hour. It was so convenient and became a huge hit among my friends.
